FAST education - you're never too young to learn!

I had the honour of being invited to Class 3.3, Unity College, on the Sunshine Coast, yesterday. My friend Majella (Mrs Lennox) is their teacher and she thought during one of their 'health' education lessons, I could visit them and teach them about signs of stroke. The class were just lovely and somehow in 'awe' of me being an author and standing there in front of them reading poetry. I gave away FAST cards, some of my bookmarks, some FAST fridge magnets fro those who stood up in front of the class to help me explain the signs of stroke.These 2children wer-9 years and at the end off my presentation, they were keen to go home and tell everyone they knew about the signs of stroke and that it can happen to anyone at any age. My job was done! I was even presented with a bottle of wine and a lovely Thank you card from the class. Great morning!
