Ok, so what's been happening in my little bubble, besides from covid this and covid that. Haven't put up anything for a while, so here goes.
So I gave myself a Mother's Day present. An old injury sustained when I was younger raised it's little ugly head and said hello. ACL failed and meniscus decided to go Walkabout. An appointment with the Orthopaedic Surgeon confirmed the good news. Operation stability was booked for July.....yay🤬, as a side note peeps, don't under value a second opinion. Can I just say that I really don't like operations. And, yes, I can speak from experience. Done and dusted, a grafted ACL and a meniscus repair, I am now on the road to recovery. Don't get me wrong I don't want to have to go through that again, wow it wasn't ticklish. So now I have to wear a brace for 6 weeks and I have to apply even pressure on both feet. As we all know in the stroke world, quite a difficult task, especially when agility is compromised. A couple of things I have noted.
1. it is extremely important to go into any operation with good muscle strength, it makes the road to recovery a lot easier.
2. have good support at home. This operation has added complication to every single task.
3. Some teenagers I can cook better than others
Here was I worried that the knee would put me behind schedule to obtain my driver's licence but fear not covid-19 took care of that.
