0 CommentsKiara, has set herself a challenge to walk 100 kilometres throughout November. The 19-year-old says the cause is personal as her elder sister suffered several strokes in her early 20s.
“My sister, Chloe, was just 24 when she suffered her first stroke and then experienced another one several months later before doctors discovered she had holes in her heart,” said Kiara.
“Chloe has been so brave and has had to learn to walk and talk again. I am proud to help raise funds for people like her and others in the future.”
A friend of Kiara’s also had a stroke at the age of 20, due to a rate condition, and this has made Kiara more determined to achieve her goal during Stride4Stroke month.
Every dollar raised through Stride4Stroke will have an enormous impact. It will go towards vital Stroke Foundation programs like StrokeLine and EnableMe services which help survivors and their family’s transition to life back home after stroke and throughout the recovery journey.
