We need you to share Your Lived Experience to help other Stroke Survivors and Carers.
The ASSET Stroke Project Team is seeking the assistance of stroke survivors and carers to develop the ASSET Project -an innovative project designed to improve the level of self-efficacy among stroke survivors.
What is Self-Efficacy?
Self-efficacy is another way of expressing a person's belief in their ability to complete a task or achieve a goal.
It encompasses a person's confidence in themselves to control their behavior, exert an influence over their environment, and stay motivated in the pursuit of their goal.
A few monts ago, I scribed a blog titled "Believe you can and you’re halfway there" which talks about efficacy and the impact it had- It makes interesting reading!
A high level of efficacy is important to stroke survivors who are often facing unfamiliar challenges in their rehab as a result of their stroke.
This is an occasion where the sharing of Lived Experiences by other stroke survivors and/or carers is a unique and a powerful catalyst in nurturing an increase in efficacy levels in other Stroke Survivors.
Are you able to share your experiences on advocating for yourself, managing your mobility or mastering any communication difficulties.
Are you willing, through your lived experience, able to help a stroke survivor who is struggling with fatigue, emotional or cognitive challenges.
What we would like is to record your thoughts, advice, and experiences on video.
We can record your segment via ZOOM with a Project member or it can be filmed on your phone. A fee of $50 per video will be paid for your video.
