Fundraisers will set off in the darkness of early morning to tackle steep ascents and rocky trails of the Snowy Mountains before watching the sun rise across panoramic views from the 2,228m summit of Mt Kosciuszko’s peak.
As they take on this adventure-of-a-lifetime, they’ll be helping to prevent stroke, save live and enhance recovery for survivors of stroke.
Do you want to join them? If you are a survivor of stroke, StrokeLine (1800 787 653) has some advice.
"Every single day stroke survivors scale metaphorical mountains and hit peaks in their stroke recovery journeys. Hiking to the 2,228m high summit of Mt Kosciuszko is not for everyone and we highly encourage you to talk to your GP and other health professionals before signing up for this adventure.
Inspired Adventure’s Stroke Foundation fundraising adventure is designed for people who are relatively fit and willing to train. It is a physically challenging undertaking and requires strength, fitness and mobility. A good guidepost for this trek is being able to now, or with dedicated training, comfortably walk in hilly terrain for 5 plus hours and then get up and do it again the next day.
This trek has inherent risks and danger. If you're a survivor, please talk with your GP, neurologist and the allied health professionals involved in your care before you sign up. Listen to what they have to say and take their advice."
