amusia

Amusia is the loss/lack of perception of pitch and rhythm which can occur following a brain injury(stroke or even be present at birth)

Montreal University have done a lot of research (and have developed a test for pitch) into this but still there is no known techniques for therapy or recovery that music therapists in Aust know about

it affects approx 40% of all stroke victims and generally only musicians even notice its missing

imagine being a musician and no longer being able to perceive changes in pitch or rhythm

you would not be able to play or keep in time with other musicians

this is what hashappened to me

i so i thought untill doing some testing with a music therapist

my pitch is ok

my rhythm at low volumes is ok

its only at high volumes that everything falls apart
