Researchers at Monash University are undertaking a survey to seek the wisdom and lived experience of stroke survivors and their families to assist in shaping the next possible advance in Stroke rehabilitation - Stem Cell Therapy.

This survey is being conducted by the Department of Neuroscience at Monash University and led by Dr Madeleine Smith (Research Fellow, Brain Recovery and Rehabilitation Group). The investigator team also includes Professor Natasha Lannin (Group Head, Brain Recovery and Rehabilitation Group) and Xingyue He (student researcher).

What is the Survey’s Objective?

The Survey aims to explore stroke survivors’ views and perspectives on Stem Cell therapies for stroke rehabilitation. This data will help researchers at Monash University understand which treatment characteristics matter most to stroke survivors and guide the development of future stem cell therapies that align with stroke survivor preferences and priorities.

What is required of those participating in the Survey.

Participation in this Survey will involve an initial online survey and a follow-up face-to-face interview, which can be conducted by either telephone or ZOOM.

The survey is completed first to help researchers understand participants’ perspectives and guide the subsequent interview discussion.
