0 CommentsI had a cerebellum stroke 7 years ago at the age of 66.
I was in a wheelchair for 3 weeks then walked with a stick for a while. I also had sensory overload and couldn't go into a shopping centre for nine months.
As I improved I did balance exercises for an hour a day for a year. This resulted in new neurones and neural connections in my brain, and now my balance is better than average for my age group.
On Monday I cycled about 50 kilometres on a normal bike with the over 55 cycling club in Perth and I play pickleball sometimes for a total of 8 hous a week.
I still have a hidden disability from my stroke but have been incredibly lucky.
Goodluck,
Ian
