For me, that heroism has never been abstract. Over the past decade of rehabilitation, I have walked alongside my own Hall of Heroes—clinicians, researchers, therapists, advocates, and everyday people whose skill, compassion, and constancy have shaped my recovery.
Their victories are often quiet, their work unseen, yet their impact has been profound and enduring.
And I know I am not alone in this.
Each of us carries our own constellation of heroes—those who steady us, encourage us, challenge us, or simply remain present when the path grows steep.
