Has your GP certified you fit to return to work full time? A number of employers request full clearance from a medical professional for an employee to return to full duties, full time, post stroke. If they have, the next step is to directly talk to your employer, and HR department, about their reasons for not extending your hours.
If having a chat doesn't help with a resolution, you can seek advice from the ‘Job in Jeopardy Assistance Program’. They are a government funded program offering a free service to any worker who is at risk of losing their job due to injury, illness or disability. Their number is (07) 3253 5000.
Here at Stroke Foundation, we have additional EnableMe resources available on returning to work after stroke that can be found here: https://enableme.org.au/Resources/Work. Our health professionals on StrokeLine 1800 787 653 are also available to discuss return to work concerns, don't hesitate to give us a call if you would like to discuss this further.
