I am having a lot of trouble adjusting to monocular vision after losing sight in my left eye due to a CRAO which occurred over 7 months ago. I would be interested to hear from other people who may have suffered a similar stroke and how they went in adjusting to monocular vision after the sudden loss of sight in one eye, particularly with reading and close up work. I am 59 years old.

I'm so sorry to hear about your monocular vision loss after your stroke. I believe Alana may have already emailed you a list of resources around vision. I didn't have anything specific to add. Speaking to your eye specialists, utilising services such as Vision Australia and Guide Dogs (they offer a neurological service) might be helpful. Vision Australia have social support groups, a peer support phone service (for others with a similar vision loss) a helpline and a community forum that you may also like to explore. It is a less common visual impairment after stroke which may explain why no one has replied yet.
