Strokes are life-changing events. In my situation, my son (Oscar) was six-month-old after my stroke happened, consequently can't compare what having a stroke would be if you weren't a parent. But for me, having a family gave goals, motivation and direction for rehab.

It was great to read your bog regarding parenting your beautiful little man Oscar. Many of your comments ring true for me -you want to be a good parent. You want a relationship with you son. It is wonderful to hear of the support you have had to navigate your way through early years of parenting and they joy children bring to our lives.
We have had our three children who are now 21 (Harry) 20 (Ally) 16 (Bonnie) after I had my stroke. My focus on creating and continuing a healthy relationship with them as they grew into the wonderful young people they are was my absolute priority. I knew my husband and I had experienced trauma and that the need for us to manage this throughout our lives was important for our children's health and well being.
I read that you have a new baby due in the not so distant future. I wish you all the very best for your family.

I see on the Stroke Foundation Website that you will be doing the Harbour Bridge Climb as part as Stride4stroke. AWESOME!! THRILLING!! THAT IS SO WONDERFUL!!
As a family we did the climb a few years back and I found it a great experience. Commentary on the history of the bridge is relayed through the ear muffs worn and I found it really interesting,
