In my role as an Inclusion Coach, working with Get Skilled Access (Dylan Alcott's consultancy company) we are constantly looking for new avenues to make things more inclusive, whether it be healthcare, education, sport, employment, or travel. One of the Projects they are involved with is working with Uber & state governments to match the taxicab subsidies, similar to what they do in Victoria. Introducing Uber’s New Transport Subsidy Trial
Uber is launching a trial to advocate for provider-neutral transport subsidy schemes, moving beyond the current taxi-only model. This initiative aims to demonstrate, through real-world data, the benefits of offering people with disabilities greater choice in transport services. Uber will fund the equivalent subsidy, mirroring existing schemes in each state, to gather insights and support government policy reform.
