As some of you may be aware[from a previous blog] that since I sustained my Stroke in 2016, I have by necessity become a prodigious walker-- For several reasons, it is my primary source of exercise and if I do not than my right leg adopts a fence post like rigidity.
As we are creatures of habit I have developed a route which I travel several times a day and often I will stop and sit on a park bench along the way to give my hamstrings and calf muscles an opportunity to catch their collective breath.
My rest stop on my bench has now become a regular highlight on my daily safaris, as I take the opportunity to absorb the peace and quiet of the park, the sounds of suburbia plus whilst I enjoy the family it is nice to drink in the solitude for a short period.
It is a time where I am able to review the events of my past and future days; think about the issues of the world that are concerning me\{and we have enough of those, don’t we thrill seekers\}.Quite often I mentally write on my mental blackboard the blogs or my weekly update for Facebook.
This park bench has become my ‘happy place. My go to place” when I want to resolve an issue or gain that creative spark for one of the many things I got going on in my busy\{yet bloody satisfying\} life.
MY ADVICE TO STROKE SURVIVORS-Find your special Park Bench if you can, visit it often and use the time you spend there wisely.
Enjoy the solitude- who knows someday you just might write a blog about it!
Happy Trails! Thrill Seekers and Fellow Time Travellers.
