EnableMe | enableme - stroke recovery and support

When I fell and broke my stroke-affected hip, I went to the orthopaedic section in the hospital. In summary, my stay is best described as painful. My Orthopod was okay, but I think of Irish extraction because he gave the connecting pin an extra whack – to be sure! Now my left leg is shorter than my right, but nobody believes me. Stop laughing Ted, it has not changed my political view.

My left stroke-affected arm reacts to every sneeze or cough by sweeping across my regulation black elastic-waisted trousers and stopping at the gonad protection position. I read that strokes often caused incontinence which corrected itself after a month. Did I miss out - it’s about four years ago now!

That's gotta hurt for sure, sorry to hear that you have another complication to add to your days.

I hope you have some supportive people around you as you recover.

So with one shorter leg now are you going to adjust the regulation black trousers or will wear you them the same and just make a fashion statement out of your new look?

Thanks Sue for your kind words. I have plenty of family support. We just get on with living. My left leg is half a centimetre shorter, giving it an Angus length.
