The Smart Strokes Conference is being held in Newcastle, 15-17 October 2025.
The theme for 2025 is “Achieving Excellence through Empowered Voices and Collaboration.”
Smart Strokes is offering 10 scholarships (up to $1000 each) to support people with lived experience of stroke to attend the Smart Strokes 2025 Conference in Newcastle.
These scholarships are designed for individuals with lived experience who are:
- • Interested in being more than a participant in research
- • Keen to become active contributors or team members in stroke research or service improvement
- • Passionate about helping shape stroke studies or stroke healthcare services that reflect real-world experiences and needs
🏨 Scholarships can be used to support flights, accommodation, and conference registration.
📝 To apply: Send us a short expression of interest (1 page max, 2 paragraphs will be ample), outlining:
- • Why you want to attend Smart Strokes 2025
- • How you hope to contribute to or get involved in stroke research or service improvement
- • What you hope to gain or achieve through attending
- • Any lived experience or advocacy you’d like to highlight
- • Please let us know where you live (state, metro/regional) as we are wanting to support people from across Australia to attend
- • People with lived experience of stroke who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander are encouraged to apply
