Okay so here I am again banging on about MUSIC and how wonderful it is.
Volunteering takes up a bit of my time and I am Chair Person for two support groups, one of the a Stroke Support Group and one of them a Brain Injury Support Group. The second group has a larger amount of people, we meet monthly, and I have in recent times organised the leaders of my choir to attend and run an hour long workshop for us.
The workshop followed our meeting on Tuesday this week. What a turn out of people we had! With two awesome engaging leaders the hour long workshop which included clapping and rhythm, a song, it was a wonderful way to include everyone.
I attend a weekly choir and have done so for nearly four years now. We have so much fun and this term we are singing songs which have a relation to "Weather". So we have sung, Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head, and last night we sung "Always Take The Weather." by Split Enz.
Sophie and Abby who lead us are musicians, releasing their own CD last year.
My favourite song off the Album is Small town Woman. This song depicts where I come from, it's about owning being who you are and owning the realities of choice in life as we move forward in life carrying our own stuff. Now we have MERCHANDISE for these two lovely ladies.
I have included a photo of the T-Shirt, which has Abby and Sophies beautiful faces on the front and "I'm a Small Town Woman" on the back.
Here is a link to the film clip of the song.
