About 10 years ago Annie had her stroke, and every day she’s worked on the spasticity in her hand.
Last week, for the first time Annie was able to fully open her hand.
She says, “My left hand has opened up! It has taken nine years and eight months......neuroplasticity works.”

Annie what an amazing result from sheer hard work. I can understand your elation as I have fingers that now work. Would you mind sharing your rehab with this community. I keep my fingers going with simple knitting and sewing at a slow pace. JENNY

what excercises did you do during rehab the last ten years? I am eight plus years after my massive stroke. I still cannot open my left hand nor do I have any functional movement of the arm. It is very frustrating.
i use the Saeboflex equipment for excercising my hand but have had no movement yet. I believe in God and miracles too. I’m encouraged by your avhievement and more committed than ever to continue working on the spasticity. I’m hoping you’ll be able to share with this community yourvexcercise regime Annie. Best wishes

That is great I also had my hand closed over for nearly 15 years and have just started neurophysio and gradually it’s staying op
That is fantastic. I hope you can share what you have been doing to help this happen. I had my stroke 2 years ago and am so frustrated with my arm and hand. I keep working at it everyday, but so far nothing. Willing to give anything a go.
Two questions, .... are you right handed and was it your right hand affected. Next question is 'how did you do it?' exactly what exercises did you do to achieve this marvellous result? I am in my seventh year of recovery and my hobby is music. It took me two years to get to hold a plectrum on my right hand and since then daily exercising with everything imaginable enables me to play guitar again. Not with the same dexterity or skill, but at least I'm playing.
My fingers do not have the strength or flexibility but have learned new tricks of playing to overcome the shortcomings. regards Deigh
This plectrum I made to lock around the thumb and resists being dropped. The leather is kangaroo skin and has enabled me to play again.
