From Dianne: “I get pain and spasms in my non stroke affected side the arm, hand I use all the time. Does anyone else get non stroke affected side sternum or chest soreness from using that side all the time? Do you have any suggestions on how to relieve the pain?” If you have any tips Di would be really grateful – it is causing her a lot of probs. - Diana

Gazzie Martin I was getting sever headaches so went to an acupuncturist who referred me for an mri and was told I had had a stroke. After I was released from hospital went back to the acupuncturist and had post stroke treatment. I think it has helped heaps. Not sure if it is mind over matter but have only been improving each day. Good luck.
Rose-ann Kruger Body salts. Staminade powder from supermarket mixed with water. Cures pain and spasms in my upper back cause by weight of my bust. Massage is good for relaxing the muscles and easing pain but most effective is the body salts.
Steve Bolton Force yourself to take a break, don't do too much in a day even though you can. It overtaxes the non affect side, all those tiny little muscles we aren't aware of plus the extras brain'work to make up for weakened senses. Even if you don't think you're weaker, you are. a 1% extra workload isn't much but across half a body its extremely fatiguing. Too much too fast burnt me out, i went back to work and was walking the 1.2km but a year later i struggle to walk half that far from the damage. You need to find where your new limits are, don't see them as permanent, just don't push them just because you can. Finding balance is hard.
Linda Steuer I found my chiropractor doing ART on my effected side really worked n she really worked on letting the brain know that I have 2 sides. My good side I get pins n needles n now my right knee has gone on me from taking a lot more of the weight. I have learnt when I can not push any more n I go to bed n rest n that is the best thing to do.
