Hi Peter, absolutely. And every stroke is different. Are you doing activities at home for your fitness?
Diana
Hi Diana,
i do what I can, my balance or lack of restricts how much I can do. I have recently started doing hydrotherapy which helps and go out with Anglicare in a men's group once a week...
Hi Peter,
It is fantastic that you have a group of people to exercise with. I think that it make a huge difference to share activities with other people.
Do you know about Heartmoves? The heart foundation runs an exercise program to develop core strength, that is good for people after stroke. Here are the details: http://www.heartmoves.org.au/ much of it is done on a chair. Here is a video so you can do some moves at hoime http://www.heartmoves.org.au/session-video

Thank you Diana,
My wife and dare I say psychologist thought it is a good idea for me to blog which might be helpful to myself and others who might have some questions on my condition and management. Thank you for the informational videos. Long time ago I was a Physical Training Instructor in the Army and finishing up in 2000 used to coach gymnastics and trampolining. I know what to do mentally just the physical part is finding it hard to do as my brain tells it to do.......
Peter.

I hope oped you are doing well.
Hi Peter,
Just read what I typed, sorry about the errors. Haha
I should check before posting.
Hi Lizzy,
i had a lateral medullary stroke in Jul 2016. Couldn’t walk, talk or swallow for many months. Still doing rehab in gym and pool twice each per week. Walked with a stick for a couple of years. Bought a Fitbit and now walk 2500 steps per day unaided. I am a great believer in Neuroplasticity and will never give up hope of returning to golf one day. Thanks for the info on Facebook. I will look it up. Cheers James
