Hey all,
My stroke experience involved a lot of appointments with healthcare professionals such as GPs, neurologists, neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, ophthalmologists, etc. Sometimes I have felt that there can be a tendency for doctors to rush through providing information or not provide enough information for me to make an informed choice or feel that my needs, wishes, feelings and beliefs are not heard. To help me make the most of my appointments I like to write down any questions that I have, take notes and repeat back what I have heard to check that I have understood their meaning. Are there other strategies that you use to make the most out of your appointments?
