Stroke Foundation is looking for four new members to join its Lived Experience Council. The Council reports to the Stroke Foundation Board.
Stroke Foundation is a national charity that works with survivors of stroke, carers, health professionals, government, and the public to reduce how stroke affects Australians. Our mission is to Prevent Stroke, Save Lives and Enhance Recovery.
The Lived Experience Council represents survivors of stroke, their carers and family. The Council helps us shape debates, policies and services.
What you need to know:
- You need to be a survivor of stroke or a carer to join the Council.
- Council members are honorary positions.
- Council members join for a 3-year term, with a maximum of two terms.
- You need to submit a written application.
We are looking for members from:
- South Australia
- Australian Capital Territory
- Queensland
- National (survivor of childhood stroke)
Stroke Foundation values diversity. We aim to represent the voices of all survivors of stroke and carers in Australia. Stroke Foundation strongly encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to apply.
