Stroke Foundation wants to better understand people's experiences in managing muscle stiffness or tightness after stroke. This muscle stiffness or tightness is called spasticity. It can make life more difficult.
We are also interested in finding out about experiences of using botulinum toxin type A to manage spasticity.
We want to find out more so we can improve future stroke care.
To help us understand we have a survey and are holding small online peer led focus groups.
We are looking for people:
- who have had a stroke or support someone who has
- have experienced muscle stiffness or tightness (spasticity)
- have used botulinum toxin type A (e.g. Botox, Dysport) to help manage the muscle spasticity
- live in Australia
If you want to participate in a focus group, please complete the survey or contact Simone.
Your voice and experiences will help:
- Identify what helps and what hinders in managing spasticity after stroke
- Identify benefits and challenges of current treatments like botulinum toxin and therapy
- Inform potential solutions to the challenges
- Contribute to future projects and resources in this area
