Recurrent Stroke - Recovery

We are very sorry to hear about your grandmother having had two recent strokes. It must be a very challenging time for you all.

At this early stage after her second stroke, you are best to have a conversation with her treating doctors and team around prognosis and expectations for recovery. They are best placed to give advice on this. Stroke is complex and there are many factors to consider around predicting recovery. The size and location of her strokes, her age and previous level of health and fitness will be some of the things the doctors will be taking into consideration. Improvements in her level of consciousness/alertness and ability to follow commands would also be being monitored to help with predicting her prognosis and her suitability to participate in rehabilitation if/when she is medically stable.
