Anaesthesia Post Stroke

I can certainly understand your apprehension about further surgery and the related anaesthetic.

I would suggest speaking more with your neurologist to gain a firm understanding of the cause of your stroke in relation to your previous surgery. For example, what about the surgery or anaesthetic do they think contributed to the stroke?

It may be useful for the anaesthetist and neurologist to consult with each other to discuss the relative risks specific to your situation, so that you can be given a comprehensive picture of the risks vs benefits of each anaesthetic approach.
