My husband's stroke has meant the loss of the use of his left hand and arm, difficulty in flexing his left foot, and requiring an AFO and 4-pronged cane to help with walking. He has carers that assist with showering and dressing him. If we go out, he needs to use a portable wheelchair and a carer to help push it. My husband finds it difficult to go to the movies as it can take up to 15 minutes for him to be wheeled to the toilet and back if he needs to go during the movie. I'm keen to have him make a trip with me for a change of scenery for him. Would love to know if other stroke survivors and their carers have been able to travel and how they've managed this.
