I am glad to find this video as it is short and concise. This is a great way to show aphasia to people who don't know about this disability. People hear that some had a stroke, but don't understand that there are some many associated problems with a stroke. For example, aphasia. Still I had my stroke and doctors told me I had aphasia, I had never hear that word. Now, it is around all of my live.
This video will help people to know someone who as has a stroke/aphasia will understand very quickly.
This is a great video. Do you know if there is a fact sheet version or something similar I can give my work colleagues?
Hi Kelly,
Here is the original page from Ted-Ed: Aphasia: The disorder that makes you lose your words - Susan Wortman-Jutt
There are discussion points etc, although not a fact sheet specifically.

Thanks Di, Interesting clip, I hadn't seen that one. As difficult as it has been to live with affects of my stroke and knowing my communication was affected, I have continued through many years to do my best at communicating with integrity and need for positive interactions.

Just watched the video which really helped understand more and be able to show that video to my friends and family to understand what is happening with me
Hi MelGP,
There is also an online aphasia simulator: Check it out here and I would love to hear if you think it's helpful.

A great clip, my speech is slow but I had to lean to speak again also I have trouble understanding the spoken word (ie good hearing pre stroke afterward speech, sounded like a dalek), after six years a slow and steady improvement, also I tend to augment my understanding with lip reading
