Thanks for your question – here’s some information that I hope will help you:

Metal implants are a safety concern when it comes to MRI, so the radiologist will very quickly tell you whether it’s safe or not to proceed with an MRI. It can be safe if the implant is made of titanium, which is not magnetic.  

However titanium can still affect the accuracy of an MRI.

CT is an alternative option and many stroke survivors will only have a CT to diagnose their stroke.

I would suggest discussing your concerns with your neurologist so that you can together explore whether other options are needed.
