Young Stroke Survivor

Hi Jade - unborn babies have strokes, sometimes they just don't know why. It doesn't help your mental health when you otherwise feel ok. 

I'm 49, mine was in September, i had a seizure the following day, which means no driving for at least six months. I'm not in the young category, but I'm not old either.

Ive gotten on to a psychologist so hopefully meeting with them will help me mamage my fear of it happening again.

15 months ago I had a massive stroke and seizure, I was also told by the doctors they don’t know what caused the stroke, I still get scared and upset and worried especially if I get a headache or my back hurts, my doctor explained to me after the trauma I have gone through there will always be a trigger point that sets my anxiety off, my husband can sense when I get agitated he talks to me and reassures me. A friend of mine described it like having post traumatic stress.

Learn some breathing exercises, find a quite spot,

Hi Yvonne, im so sorry to hear that! Its extremely frustrating when they can't tell you why it happened. Ive definitely found that music helps to take my mind off things.

Great to see you have found EnableMe. Everything is still very recent for you and yes it would make sense that there is a lot for you to take in and process.

Music - ahh - good old music, do you have specific songs that you like?

I had my stroke when I was 22 years old- I turn 50 next year.  Life is good, I've certainly needed to be creative in my ways of healing!!
