Hi Simon,
Blood sugar levels and blood pressure may change due to a variety of factors and it is best to talk to your General Practitioner about these changes in order to determine the exact cause.

I have read many articles about medical marijuana and how it can help you in terms of chronic pain, bone injuries, eating disorder/anorexia, anxiety disorders and panic attacks, inflammation, diabetes, even cancer and a lot more. Like this article about a marijuana strain from www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/fruit-punch/. Cbd and thc are also new to me and I don't even smoke. Alternatively, they've also found new ways to infuse cannabis on food and beverages. If this is true I can't find any solid conclusive evidence that speaks to its efficacy. Any personal experience or testimonial would be highly appreciated. Thanks
Hi Jackalyn,
You are correct in that there isn’t a great deal of quality research to support its effectiveness at this stage. As when considering any change of medication we suggest liaising with your treating doctor to weigh up harm versus benefit and discuss alternatives approved by the Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) that have a stronger evidence base.
For general information, the Federal Government’s Health Direct website has a good page on medicinal cannabis, https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/medicinal-cannabis. The Alcohol and Drug Foundation also has a page on medicinal cannabis, https://adf.org.au/drug-facts/medical-cannabis/, as well as one on cannabis in general, https://adf.org.au/drug-facts/cannabis/.
For anyone considering illicit drugs for medicinal use, more information can be found on the Alcohol and Drug Foundation website on the evidence-base, the risks and harm minimisation.
If you require additional support, advice or information in future don’t hesitate to call StrokeLine on 1800 787 653.
