Hi fellow stroke survivors. Following my stroke, I've decided to put my (somewhat dusty) research skills and IT skills to good use by becoming a stroke researcher. I am now running a study as part of my research. I'm keen to hear from people with aphasia how they use AI, or how they would like to use AI. Hi, I am interested in taking part in your survey. Whilst my aphasia is not acute, it does "interrupt" my interactions with other people. I suffered my stroke in April 2023, so I am not recently affected.

I am enrolled in the U3A, studying genealogy. My aphasia affects my ability to write Family History narratives. Using AI on my mobile helps me complete narratives in quick time rather than struggling to put the words into print.

if in your capacity I am interested to find out  how to improve as the more I talk the worst I get within an hour and my real voice dissappears and come back from  hoarse to clear

Hi Daniele,

The current study is about how people with aphasia use AI, not about advice on how to improve. For that, I would suggest you contact a speech pathologist. If you get in touch with StrokeLine https://strokefoundation.org.au/What-we-do/For-survivors-and-carers/StrokeLine they will be able to point you in the right direction. The Australian Aphasia Association also has bunch of resources at https://aphasia.org.au and you can try contacting them.

If you are interested in participating in the study, it is currently full, but if anything changes, I will let you know.
