Who are we?
Over the past 35 years, Synapse - Australia's Brain Injury Organisation, has grown to employ around 120 people. We provide a range of services nationally, including information and referral, specialist supports, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services, advocacy, housing and targeted research activities. Synapse promotes quality of life, self-determination and choice. Our mission is to ensure the rights of people impacted by brain injury, by connecting knowledge, policy, services and systems.
A new way to support carers.
Synapse is launching a new service in Western New South Wales to support family members and friends who are caring for a person with a brain injury, including stroke.
Synapse is excited to be seeking applications for this new role to be based in Dubbo and to service the surrounding region. The Family Liaison Officer (FLO) will provide family members with information about brain injury, support to navigate various systems and, most importantly, provide understanding and wisdom through their own lived experience.
Is this the role for you?
• Do you have lived experience of caring for a family member with brain injury?
• Would you love to see families have access to relevant information and support as they transition from hospital/rehab back into the community?
• Do you have strong empathy and great listening skills?
• Are you ready to give back and support families in Western NSW?
Then you could be our new Family Liaison Officer!
If you have:
• a NSW drivers licence,
• moderate computer literacy,
• a listening ear, and
• a commitment to support families and carers impacted by brain injury
Then we want to talk to you!
