Hey, my daughter had a stroke when she was 10. She was misdiagnosed to have had braintumours after MRI . After evasive testing such as a lumber puncture and the prospect of brain surgery. Tests were negative for cancer cells. Doctor's were puzzled so after Another MRI revealed the masses in her head had changed size and that she had in fact had a cluster of bloods clots in her head not tumours. The doctors found no reason as to why or how or where clots were formed. She was a healthy bright young girl with no previous medical history. After chest X-ray they found the valve in her heart to not have closed after birth so she had a procedure using a catheter through the vein in her leg to implant the artificial valve as a precautionary measure if any future clots happen they won't travel to the brain that way. My query is there was never a answer to why she had the stroke as she was so young, fit and healthy ? Are people that have suffered stroke misdiagnosed often as having braintumours as it was very distressing and has had a major impact on her ?It's usually older people that are prone to stroke is there much research of children suffering from a stroke? Thankyou
