When I had my stroke 2 1/2 years ago we were returning from playing golf - something new we were doing in retirement.

After my stroke I couldn't walk very well and couldn't move my right arm or hand at all.

I have undertaken a stringent rehab program both with physios and also a program I do at home each day lasting about 2 hours.

Check out the video - I can now hit the golf ball again.

We have posted some videos of some of the home exercises I have found to be the most helpful on My Blog which is on my Public Profile.

Hopefully there might be some ideas that will  help you too. If you plan to try any of these please have a physio or other trained Health Professional assess their suitability for you.

Looking great Joy! So pleased for you. A daily 2 hour commitment is epic. I wouldn't have the stamina for that. I'll stick to my more erratic schedule for now which at least keeps things mobile, I'll save the intense program for when I retire.
Well done!
Wow! That is fantastic Joy! What an inspiration. Simone (StrokeLine)
My big plan since my stroke last December, is to play the guitar and keyboards again. Both a progressing very slowly. Major hurdle was holding a plectrum. It would slip out of my right hand fingers after a few seconds. I now have a supply of plectrums with double sided sellotape applied to them. This means they stick to my index finger, but not permanently and can be removed easily. This has given me a playing time of about 30 minutes, this is as long as I can cope with since the left hand has got very lazy after a four month rest period and the muscles in that hand have to be built up again.Deigh
Hi Deigh, you should keep your eyes peeled for Antonio Iannella. He is also a musician, unfortunately he had to give up guitar after his stroke. He took up piano, and makes amazing music with The Braves. Diana

Joy have you heard of these guys? Empower Golf http://www.empowergolf.com.au/ They are in Sydney at the Moore Park course.

Bit far, but might be worth getting in touch.
