Hi All,
Some answers from the Facebook community:
Rebecca: I had a stroke two years ago at 28. What saved my life was my iPhone.. as I was unable to move or see..I used “Siri” to voice activate my iphone to call 000..which she did and the ambulance came.. without that I would’ve died.
Why I’m saying the above is because I understand your concerns and desire for something that’ll help both you and your son..
If he’s able to use something similar and have u as an emergency contact that might be worth looking Into...
Also for further reassurance whilst your sons out there’s an app called “Life360 “ where family members can join a group which shows their location at all times (if batteries not dead/ can tailor it too) might be something worth checking out šš» goodluck

I hang it around my neck or you can wear it like a watch. It has 5 personal phone numbers set into it.
The NDIS covered my cost and it is a one of payment
Kate: Expensive, but the new Apple Watch has both walkie talkie and fall detection capabilities. If triggered the fall detection will send texts to emergency contacts and call 000
Tina: Care alert alarm. Looks like a watch can be programmed to call list of number can be voice activated.
Rani: You can download Life360 on both mobiles. When he is in trouble he can push the alert button. You have to set it up with your mobile number. I pay each month $15.48 it’s worth it. There is a free one but I get more things in paying also you can track him. Also you can set up alerts when he leaves & comes his distance traveled
Pip: Life line
You have gps and phone attached without paying for a phone or monthly fees
I love it

Claire: Just got my husband a personal alarm from livelifealarms, it seems good sends a text message with gps location and then dials programmed no.
Duncan: There are settings on some phones to dial emergency contacts quickly by pressing the power button 3 times, etc.. I have Samsung galaxy gear watch which links to my phone and can call or text my emergency contacts with my location if the side button is pressed 3 times, I inadvertently activated that while playing squash ironically only a few weeks before I had my stroke on the very same court and I also had left side paralysis and vision loss, all the best to your don with his journey through this.
