Hi I had a small stroke on the 19th of January 2017. Right from the onset I felt noone knew.Even the attending ambulance paramedic said "whats your emergency, all your obs are fine".It didn't help that my nosy neigbour told them I was out mowing the lawn all day ( which actually was only between 7 and 9 am), so they basically called it heatstroke.Reluctantly they took me to the hospital but insisted I walk out to the ambulance which somehow I managed. The hospital triaged me and again all obs fine so got shoved in a room with someone else who was getting dressings done. The doc eventually saw me and again same hypothesis alll obs ok so should be right to go home but he just had to check with his superior. Came back approximately 30 minutes later and said his Superior had rang the neurologist in Cairns and they said they wanted to see me down there suspecting a TIA. I'd Never even heard of it. LOng story short, I get ambulanced to Cairns for emergency CT scan etc and they are clear so Neurologist states it could be just migraines. To which I replied "How can it be migraines if I didn't feel sick or have a headache during the whole weird event. They had no answers but noted loss of pain in various areas of my left leg as opposed to my right one, so ordered an MRI. Thank God they did, as it showed I had had a stroke.Since then I have been released but I still feel misunderstood, I am so fatigued it is beyond funny, I am an emotional wreck at times. I went to church yesterday and became so incapacitated I had to be carried out.Can anyone shed some light or offer suggestions on why that happened.Even at home if too much is going on I go into a daze or I just can't think. Will this last long and why are people so misinformed?Even my Pastor says a stroke is to do with the heart. Maybe there needs to be more publicity on strokes.Sorry for the speil but had to get it off my chest.
