I’ve just had my second TIA, last one was 18 months ago and was not as bad as this one, this one went on for 1hour 15 mins and left me with right arm and face weakness for a few day and still nearly 2 weeks on my right shoulder/ top arm aches, had MRI as they thought it was stroke this time but results came back good ( which is good).
I was on aspirin, blood pressure and heart tablets which they started me on last time and haven’t stopped taking them, i have never smoked hardly drink alcohol ( a couple of glasses of wine at weekend) I’m 76kg and just under 6ft in height so all in proportion 😂 I eat healthy too. I’ve had every test they can throw at me from holter monitor, TOE procedure, stress test etc, you name it I’ve pretty much had it, all tests have come back fine. My grandad died of stroke at 72 my uncle died of stroke at 62 and my dads on warfarin for irregular heartbeat which I know can cause a stroke. It scare me that I might be next as doctors can’t find out why I’ve had them. They have said they will give me another holter monitor for 48 hours this time but honestly don’t think it will pick up anything as last one didn’t.
just wanted to know if anybody else is having this, where they don’t know cause of it and basically have to go on thinking when will I have another one, doctors said there is really not a lot more that can do and I understand that but I really want to know what’s causing it and I don’t want to be the next one in line in the family that dies of stroke.
would like to hear from anyone who has been or going through similar or if anyone else might be able to shed some light where the doctors can’t I would be grateful.
thanks beth
