Hi my name is Tina and I had a TIA a few years ago and two Heart Attacks. Just a few weeks ago I had a temperature rise to 188 over 89 my heart was pounding and I was very dizzy I also felt like the side of my face drop. I went to a physio appointment and the lady there said I was very dizzy and uncoordinated so after talking to her supervisor they took me to the emergency department saying they thought I had had a mini stroke well the emergency department did not worry about that they were more worried I had had a heart attack after they checked the Troponin levels they discharged me and told me to go to my heart doctor. I went and he did a head scan and told me all was okay. Since this episode I have had a headache daily and they are quite debilitating. My question is is it possible that I have had a small stroke without it showing up on the head scan or is it normal to get headaches as part of the fatigue I get?

I’m sorry to hear about your previous TIA and the heart attacks you have had. It’s great that you were assessed by a medical team when your symptoms were noticed a few weeks ago.

I would suggest seeing your doctor as soon as you can to discuss the ongoing headaches and the fatigue. It’s important to find out the cause in order for the right management plan to be arranged. Your doctor may suggest further testing. A TIA will usually not show up on a CT or MRI brain scan and the symptoms resolve within 24 hours. The word “mini stroke” is sometimes used for a TIA and this is different to a small stroke, which can be very confusing.
