Hi Debbie,
I'd recommend having a look on the Speech Pathology Australia website. They have a 'find a speech pathologist' search engine where you can specify the 'service' as 'residential aged care' and the 'area of practice' as 'Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC)'.
If you need any help, please don't hesitate to contact StrokeLine on 1800 787 653 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm EST).
Best wishes,

Hi Debbie
Seven years post stroke and is trying to communicate - wow that's very precious, all the best as you search for assistance for your mum.
Kind regards

Dont give up recent research suggests speech can continue to improve as long as you keep stimulating it .A great book to read is Teaching Talking.
