I have been referred to www.strokebreakthrough.com by friends who had seen on TV a controversial treatment offered by this institute in themUS. Has any stroke survivor in this forum had any experiences with these guys? Is it for real?- testimonials sound too good to br true! Is it worth pursuing? is anyone considering undergoing treatment here?

I did call stroke line today, the recording said that all health professionals were busy at the time. I left my name, state and contact number as requested for a callback.
Elaina from Strokeline spoke to me today and advised that the treatment offered by INR is not endorsed by the NSF due to insufficient testing/research on the treatment. I am wondering if any stroke survivors on this forum have had any contacts with INR regarding the peri spinal etanercept injection that they claim reverses theveffectsnof stroke, I.emthe impairments within minutes of administering the dose. From the testimonials on their site I can see they are popular with stroke survivors from Aus/NZ

As a stroke survivor of 4 years who has made a significant recovery, I can tell you that whenever anything seems too good to be true in stroke, it usually is. This injection promises to magically fix everything in one go but recovery does not work that way. Recovery from stroke requires bulldog tenacity, and relentless determination+ hard work. I personally havent tried it but its not worth the $8000, which would be better invested in other things which actually work

I watched your video on NSF- you are an inspiration to me.My youngest son sat for his HSC this Oct so your story touched me that much more.good on you for soldiering on and having made the stride you have so far in your recovery post stroke.I wish you all the very best in your academic pursuits and pretty much everything you set your mind to achieve.I too am determined to get back as much of the movement I have lost on my left side. I have signed up for Saeboflex as I can flex my fingers but need to build the strength to extend them on my own. I use a stick for walking but want to learn to trust my left leg/foot to walk unaided inside the house in the short to medium term. Fingers crossed. Cheers

Happy to hear that you watched my video and it helped. Walking unaided is one of the easiest goals to achieve and can be reached in 3-4 weeks easily with help from your physio. In the early phase I walked 1-2hrs/day everyday, followed by exercises from my physio after. Developing a mindset and routine which guarantees success is key in stroke as with any other endeavour in life. Once youve got this down, you wont even think about crossing fingers because you know what works, and what doesnt. As I was talking to my OT today, its about getting to a place where success is predictable because of the amount of work you put in each day.

Mahila, did you ever find out anything more about INR? I am on that research path, too. It's for my fiance, Rick, who had a massive stroke 3 years ago. Left side affected, can't move left arm at all, cannot walk without assistance. Thanks for any insight you can provide. I'm going to search high and low until I can figure out of this is something to pursue.
