Need help navigating the health system?
Kath from StrokeLine says survivors, carers and families are worried about the impact of the pandemic on their stroke treatment and rehabilitation.
“We’re getting a lot of calls from people with a family member in hospital. Visitor restrictions in many states leave people feeling disconnected. They’re not able to be on the wards to support their family member. They can’t get to know the hospital team face to face.
Another concern is access to therapy in the first few months after a stroke. Survivors, carers and families are worried about their recovery not progressing as quickly.
People are often very unsure of what’s available, who to speak with, and how to navigate the system.”
Kath knows that a call or email to StrokeLine can make a real difference. “On StrokeLine we can help you navigate the health care system, link you in with therapy, and find support for you. You'll come away from a call or email with StrokeLine with a plan that works for you."
