Hi everyone,
I have just returned home after spending six weeks in hospital, recovering from my stroke. This is the first to experience a haemorrhage aneurysm and it was a complete shock to me. I was lucky to survive and I managed to recover well, but unfortunately I can't taste food or smell anything. I feel quite frustrated and annoyed as I'm a food lover and I enjoy cooking at home. I can't taste anything, apart from sweet, sour and saltiness. But no flavours at all.
I have asked the doctors about the chance of being able to taste and smell like I used to before my stroke, but they're not able to reassure me that this will return. They just told me that I have to wait for at least six to twelve months to see what happens.
Has anyone gone through similar experience? And if so, did the sense of smell and taste return as normal?
I would love to hear from anyone that has gone through this, whether it's been good or bad outcome.
Thanks and I hope to hear from you guys soon
Ambrosia
