Richo, 59-year-old, experienced a stroke while in hospital, just a day after he was due to be discharged following back surgery. His routine procedure in May 2021 turned into a five-month stay in hospital and ended his career as a fishing charter operator.
“My life will never be the same after my stroke, but I’m lucky to be alive. If I didn’t have a stroke in hospital I probably wouldn’t be here today."
Fishing is his passion and on his first fishing trip in the two years since his stroke he caught this monster Barra.
He says, "a couple of great mates have been trying to get me out for many months, but due to the impacts from my strokes I haven't been. I finally said yes, and this happened! I couldn’t believe it. I hooked this monster fish and eventually after lots of assistance and coaching we got the beast on board. It's the biggest Barra I have ever caught! I have raised the bar for myself in more ways than one."
We're super happy for you Richo!
