ALERT: Today, Hon Greg Hunt MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care, announced $40 million in funding for a stroke air ambulance.

Stroke Foundation is thrilled to be a primary partner in The Stroke Golden Hour research project which was awarded funding under Stage Two of the Frontier Health and Medical Research Initiative.

The Stroke Golden Hour project is developing lightweight brain scanners that are more portable, meaning they can be put into ambulances on the roads and in the air. This will allow rapid diagnosis and treatment to those who have a stroke, saving lives and reducing disability.

That's great news, lots of work to see this project come about. I hope to hear about the improvements over time that this makes for people.

Such a huge undertaking to provide help for all people hit by stroke especially those living in remote areas.so often hours away from the nearest hospital. Jenny
