has anyone had any experience using equipment from Bioness for arm and leg as part of therapy for rehab purposes? if so, what has your experience been in improving limb function with use? would you recommend this equipment to other stroke survivors?Also, approximately how much did it cost?

Hi. I have only just signed up to Enable Me. My twin sister had a stroke in February at the age of 46. She is currently doing outpatient rehab 3 days a week and was trialling the Bioness L300 for her foot drop (right sided hemiplegia). Speak to your physio and OT regarding whether you can get assistance in funding for this. Whilst the Bioness leg cuff helped considerably with mobility and safety it has unfortunately also caused a DVT in my sister's leg. This is listed as a 'contraindication' with the manufacturers but the rehab staff did not seem to be aware of these risks. Do your research and if you are in a high risk category for blood clots please ask lots of questions.
