David had a left sided stroke in March 2013 which rendered him totally paralysed on right side of his body. We have worked very hard together throughout the time since then and are now living a rather pleasant life together in an over 50's village. I have worked tirelessly with him to get him to be as independant as humanly possible. This of course has also helped him regain some self respect. However the downside of this is he is now determined he should be allowed to get his own medications. I guess I could pay the extra and get pill packs which is an expense I would rather do without. However I would still be concerned there. I feel I may need to lock his medications away in case he tries.
Has anyone else had this problem and how did you deal with it??
He has accepted he should never be left alone for obvious reasons and I have recently started to take advantage of using social support through my aged care and now have 4 hours a week to call my own - Bliss!!
