46 PostsHi everyone
I'm Jude, and I look after Stroke Foundation's information and support services for survivors, family members and carers.
I'm posting to let you know that expressions of Interest are open to older people across Australia to join the Council of Elders in 2026.
The Council of Elders is a group of 14 older people who provide advice on ageing and aged care to the Federal Minister for Aged Care and Seniors. They engage broadly in the community to make sure the voices of older people are heard on the issues that matter to them.
They are looking for people with experience of aged care. You might be:
- receiving services at home or living in residential aged care
- caring for an older person
- living in a rural or remote area
- using dementia care services
- from a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) community
- be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
Applications close 26 September. Find out more here:
