This will be my last post as it is probably better all round. One of the things I find strange, is that a multi million dollar government grant to close the gap is applied for, yet there is no Aboriginal director (member) or plans to get one.
Hi George,
Please don't go. We would be grateful to hear more about your experience with stroke.
We agree with you, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are best placed to make decisions about their own health. Today, too many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are having strokes. It is something we would like to work with the community to make better. We want more people avoiding, surviving and living well after stroke.
Will you help us, George? Tell us about what stroke was like for your - what worked, what didn’t? We want to know how we can make avoiding, surviving and recovering from stroke better.
In the next few months, we will launch Our Stroke Journey, Australia’s first national stroke information booklet for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We are very grateful to have been able to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health organisations to make this happen. We know it is just the start of a long journey, but we are very excited to make a start on better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people after stroke.
Oh no, It seems that he already left us. I wish him good health and luck.
