I have seen a few articles on the Australian Aphasia Association's Facebook page recently regarding electrical therapy treatment to aid in language recovery. https://www.facebook.com/AustralianAphasiaAssociation/posts/1021246301264136

My father had a left side stroke 18 months ago and has severe aphasia as a result. I would like to know how to find out if there are providers of this treatment in Perth? It would be great to speak to a practitioner to determine whether Dad would be expected to benefit from this type of treatment.

I'm sorry to hear about your father's stroke and resulting aphasia. I'm a Speech Pathologist here with StrokeLine (1800 787 653) and am more than happy to have a chat about therapy options.

I personally haven't heard of this treatment being available for in Australia, however I'd encourage you to contact the Aphasia Association on 1800 274 274 to see if they can provide any further information.

I'm available on StrokeLine Thursday's and Friday's.
