Had some problems sleeping recently. I crash within minutes of my head hitting the pillow but am liable to wake up again any time after 2am. Usually it is a bathroom call and I drop off to sleep again. But quite regularly sleep will not come again for an hour or so and I get bored and restless.
My latest trick is to use a USB loaded with 900 jazz tunes. I have a pillow speaker plugged into the bedside radio and the sequence is to set it to SLEEP after 60minutes, set the USB to random play and the volume to comfort level. Then I just forget it and go to sleep with my favourite music playing in my ear. Usually it takes about 5 minutes and I am away. The radio will automatically switch off after the set time.
This very rarely fails!
